The Department of Geography is the oldest higher education geographic educational institution in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which has been intensively developing geographic science and profession for almost seven decades. During this period, over a thousand graduate geographers and dozens of masters and doctors of geographical sciences were educated at our Department.

Generations of employees of our Department have implemented a large number of international and domestic scientific research projects, published a large number of textbooks, and scientific and professional works organized a large number of international and domestic conferences, congresses, and symposia, and thus made a significant contribution to the development of the entire Bosnian society.

The teachers and associates of our Department have achieved and continue to achieve enviable results both at the educational level and at the level of the application of geographical science in numerous areas such as planning and management of spatial phenomena and processes, optimization of the use of natural and social resources, regional planning and regional development, urban and rural planning, tourism, environmental protection, etc.
