The home field of Geoecology of the Department of Geography of the Faculty of Science and Mathematics was determined by the Decision of the Senate of the University of Sarajevo, number: 0101-I-1569/08 dated 05/14/2008. of the year on determining the core areas and core subjects of higher education institutions of the University of Sarajevo. Subject disciplines were additionally supplemented by decisions of the Senate of the University number: 01-38-2386/10 dated 14.07.2010, 01-6605/16 dated 26.10.2016. and 01-6075/17 from September 27, 2017. and the decisions of the Faculty of Science Council.
